For over 25 years, we’ve provided specialty and emergency care to Western Pennsylvania and the tristate area at our Monroeville, PA location. We’re always here for you—24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Allegheny Veterinary Emergency Associates (AVEA), an after-hours veterinary emergency clinic in Plum, was founded by a Western Pennsylvania native.
AVEA moved to a nearby independent building on Route 286, transforming into a 24-hour emergency and critical care facility.
AVEA added veterinary specialists and became Avets (Allegheny Veterinary Emergency Trauma & Specialty). We expanded into a new state-of-the-art facility one mile from the Monroeville exits of I-376 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Avets celebrated 20 years of providing advanced veterinary care to the Western Pennsylvania region.
Avets became one of the first 15 hospitals in the country to earn the designation of VECCS Level 1 emergency and critical care facility.
Avets achieved accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), receiving both the Traditional and Referral accreditations for emergency and specialty care. AAHA-accredited hospitals are recognized among the finest in the industry, and are consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine.
